9th February 2010 - Neighbourhood policing

It was our pleasure to host the second of our Youth Panel meetings. This presented an opportunity for a group of students to discuss community issues that concern them with local police officers. PC Scott Houghton our safer schools officer was joined by Inspector Dominic Glazebrook, Sergeant Alan Bradshaw and Terry Moor the community engagement manager to share thoughts and ideas with the students. As a result of this discussion students decided that the police should prioritise street lighting in order to make it safer for them to travel around the area and to deter the gathering of some young people in the evenings. We look forward to reviewing this and building on our partnership in future meetings.
